Tells On A Roll Takes New Mark In Mares Preferred

Tells On A Roll winning at Woodbine Mohawk Park

Tells On A Roll turned in a career-best effort in Friday night's $36,000 Fillies & Mares Preferred Handicap Pace to shake off a stern challenge from new millionaire Prohibition Legal through the Woodbine Mohawk Park stretch.

Driven by Travis Cullen, Tells On A Roll left from post six with the three-time O'Brien Award-winning mare So Much More (James MacDonald) pacing with her into the first turn before giving way at the inside for the pocket trip as the favourite forged on through a :26.4 opening quarter over the 'good' track. Tells On A Roll got a breather to the half in :56 before facing the first-over challenge from Prohibition Legal (Louis-Philippe Roy) and they battled on top through three-quarters in 1:23.2.
