Slayin Theday Away Slays His Prospect Rivals Again

Kawartha Downs

A quartet of $8,000 Prospect Series divisions opened the Friday night, June 21 card at Kawartha Downs with Ontario-sired sophomore trotters in the spotlight.

Slayin Theday Away earned his third Prospect Series win of the season with a 1:59 front-end score for driver Eddie Green and trainer Keelan Green. Owned and bred by Celestey Hill, the Muscle Mass-Babeivegotyoubabe colt made the lead at the :27.4 quarter pole and never looked back en route to the two-length victory. Torston closed off stalled cover to edge out pocket-sitter Blue Kantana for second.

Stomper Tom won the fastest division of the night in his Prospect debut, leading at every call in a 1:57.4 mile with Ryan Guy driving for trainer Michael Armstrong.

The filly divisions went to trainer Gregg McNair's homebred No Need For Alarm (Doug Brown) in 1:58.2 and The Blondy (Samuel Fillion) in 1:58.3 from the Jean-Francois Maguire stable.
