Archer Students On Top At Rideau
Mandy Archer harnessed four winners on Thursday (June 13) evening at Rideau Carleton Raceway with Meadowbranch Noble topping as the featured $10,000 Preferred Handicap Trot victor.
Guy Gagnon and Mandy Archer teamed up to send Meadowbranch Noble to the gate in post three. Warrawee Xalt (Ryan Guy) deemed himself as the pacesetter with rounds in :27.2, :56, and 1:24.2, while Meadowbranch Noble sat comfortably in the pocket. Turning for home, Meadowbranch Noble kicked home in :30.2 to win by a length in 1:55. Favoured Emma Town Bud (Pierre Bovay) zoomed home to take second while Warrawee Xalt rounded out the top three.
Meadowbranch Noble (Explosive Matter-Wen Mars Memo) is a seven-year-old gelding owned by Jamie Copley. He recorded his sixth triumph in 16 starts this year and 17th career win in 117 starts. Lifetime, the gelding has banked $264,349. He paid $21.10 as the 10-1 upset victor.
Guy Gagnon also drove Archer's student Munk ($3.10) to a three-quarter length victory in 1:57.2 while Ryan Guy piloted the third winner, Speaker Nancy ($6.10), to a 3-1/4 length score in 1:53.3 and Robert Shepherd held the lines for Archer's fourth winner, Big Cheddar ($7.00), a win in 1:55 by 2-3/4 lengths.
