Harrington Hosts DSBF Trotters
Harrington Raceway hosted the first leg of the divisions for sophomore trotters on Wednesday (June 12) with six $27,397 splits.
Going Platinum and Corey Callahan started the night with a 2:02.1 win in the early non-wagering event and the first division for trotting fillies. The E L Platinum filly led all the way for trainer Nick Callahan. Glide Along was second with Chino Mayo third.
Platinum Proposal ($2.10) took the second division with Jim Morand holding the lines for trainer Les Givens in 2:00.4 over Little Silver and Wolfpack Wilma. Owned by Stuart Chambers, Bcjm Inc., and Diving Horse Racing, the daughter of E L Platinum recorded her sixth lifetime win.
Lgs Bluestone ($5.80) and Art Stafford Jr. won the second division for trotting males in 1:59.3 over Workslikeacharm and Jetsam. The Anders Bluestone gelding notched his fifth career win for co-owner and trainer Givens.
Givens tripled up in wins with Nanticoke Racing-owned Lgs Jaxon (pictured above) who, driven by Morand, won in 1:59.3 over Daddy Wags and Chief Funster. Setting all the fractions, Lgs Jaxon ($2.20) scored his ninth lifetime win.
In the $30,822 Free For All Trot, Breakaway Racing and Yorwhollhan Racing Team's Speed Away ($5.60) was driven to his fourth win of the meet in 1:56 by Callahan over Remarkable De Vie and That Ole Bar Stool. The Nick Callahan student has 14 career wins.
Givens had a training hat trick to lead all trainers. Callahan notched four driving wins on the card while Stafford had a hat trick.
