Beat Cop Heads DSBF Splits At Harrington Monday
P T Stable’s Beat Cop ($3.00, Tim Tetrick) was the fastest of three Delaware Standardbred Breeders Fund $27,397 divisions for three-year-old pacing colts and geldings Monday (June 10) at Harrington Raceway in 1:55.1.
Beat Cop (Dragon King-Beat The Beat) outkicked a game Captain Pete in deep stretch for a narrow win, the 12th of his career for trainer Crissy Crissman-Bier. Matt’s Artist finished third.
In the second division, Ross Wolfenden’s Cavalli Island ($2.40, Wolfenden) was a wire-to-wire winner over Rowdy Dragon and There Goes Bubba. The Badlands Hanover gelding is trained by Bobby Glassmeyer and notched his fourth career win.
Rodney Wyatt’s Shocking Truth ($10.60, Allan Davis) won the final DSBF division in 1:57.1 over Im Still Here and Tug River Patrick. The Badlands Hanover gelding recorded his third win of the season, all at Harrington, for trainer Eddie Dennis.
In the $30,822 Free-For-All overnight feature, David Rovine, KDP Stables’ and Mike Hall’s Layton Hanover ($5.20, Montrell Teague) was a repeat winner in 1:52.4 over I Did It My Way and Sprocket. The five-year-old Captaintreacherous put together a second straight off the pace victory for trainer/co-owner Hall in achieving his fifth win of the season, with a first-over grind that saw him wear down pacesetter Baba O’Riley and eventually edge clear in the stretch.
Later in the card, another son of Captaintreacherous dazzled as Tlb Racing’s Captaincountrystar ($2.20, Pat Berry) notched his fourth straight win in 1:50.4. The Traci Berry-trainee was an open length winner under wraps in a new lifetime best.
Live racing will continue through June 26 on a Monday through Wednesday schedule (post time 4:30 p.m.).
