Odds On Sara Sara Completes Scioto Mini-Series Action
Eldorado Scioto Downs held its last mini-series final for Ohio-sired non-winners of one on Friday, June 7. Trained by Virgil Morgan Jr., Odds On Sara Sara and driver Sam Widger took the $41,096 final of the Steve McCoy Series for three to five-year-old filly pacers, winning in 1:55.
Leaving from post seven, Odds On Sara Sara's stablemate Seaside Party (Brett Miller) crossed over quickly to take the lead and took the field to the :27.3 opening quarter. Race favourite Johns Shadow (Beau Brown) pulled midway through the first turn and took over through fractions of :56.3 and 1:25.4. Meanwhile, Odds On Sara Sara got away in the middle of the pack, pulled out down the backstretch to be third-over and followed the three-wide cover of Bella Rain (Dan Noble) through the last turn.
It was a cavalry charge to the finish with Odds On Sara Sara on the far outside winning by a quarter-length over Jumpstyle Hanover (Chris Page), who split Seaside Party, ending third off the pocket trip, and Johns Shadow, fourth at the finish.
Odds On Sara Sara is sired by Racing Hill out of the Bettors Delight mare, Keystone Paula. The filly, who picked up her second career win after a first round victory, now has $37,912 in lifetime earnings from eight starts for Odds On Racing.
