Warrawee Xalt Triumphs In Rideau Preferred
Maintaining his position in the pocket trip, Warrawee Xalt was crowned victor in the $10,000 Preferred Handicap Trot at Rideau Carleton Raceway on Thursday, June 6.
Driver Ryan Guy and trainer Patrick Dillon teamed up to send the gelding to post three in the field of five feature trotters. Warrawee Xalt left from the center of the field, but Meadowbranch Noble (Guy Gagnon) was the first to the front, leading the field through marks in :27.3, :57.2, and 1:26.4. Warrawee Xalt held firm in the pocket spot while an outer charge was led by Ima Standup Guy (Robert Shepherd) and followed by Crossfit (Jimmy Gagnon). Warrawee Xalt broke free from his foes to win by 2-1/4 lengths. Ima Standup Guy nabbed second and Crossfit claimed the show spot.
Warrawee Xalt is owned by Patrick Dillon and Patti Hoskin for his third win of the year and 16th career tally. In 63 track appearances, the five-year-old Royalty For Life - Noble Peace Prize gelding has accumulated $234,380 in career earnings. He returned $5.00 as the 3-2 bettors' choice.
