Clements Cleans Up At Clinton

Marina Del Rey and driver Dan Clements winning at Clinton Raceway

The winner's circle was a familiar sight for driver Dan Clements on Sunday afternoon, May 26 at Clinton Raceway with the veteran horseman posing for pictures after half of the day's races.

Clements's first win of the 10-race matinee came in the third as he steered ABC ($4.10) to the wire in 1:59.1 for owner/trainer Courtney Robson of Fergus, Ont. Clements turned in a repeat performance in the fourth race with Lisas All In ($4.70), once again for Robson, in a final time of 1:59.

Making it a driving triple, Clements took the fifth race with Greystone Ian O ($11.90) in 2:00.1 for trainer Lorne House.

His winning ways didn't stop there as Clements rounded out the card with victories in race eight and 10. Trained by George McClure, Marina Del Ray (pictured above) returned $18.10 for a win ticket after a 1:59.4 upset in the eighth then post time favourite Sports Nation ($4.10) finished off a House double scoring in 2:00.1 in the finale.

The second week of live harness racing in Clinton for the 2024 season had the Wingham Ironmen Junior D hockey club trackside raising funds for their 2024/25 season. The club, thanks to efforts from a 50/50, silent auction, BBQ and race sponsors, all generously supported by fans at Clinton, were able to raise just over $3,500.
