The Great Reset Posts Fastest Trotting Mile In London History
The Great Reset reset the history books on Tuesday evening (May 21) at The Raceway at Western Fair District and wrote his own name as posting the fastest trotting mile in the history of the London, Ont. oval in 1:55.3.
The previous trotting track record of 1:55.4 was set in 2022 by Duly Resolved.
In the $9,500 conditioned trot, Marvin Hagler and Brett MacDonald set up the fractions as the pacesetter with panels in :27.3, :57.3 and 1:26.4. The Great Reset and Jason Ryan bided their time in the pocket before popping out in the stretch and sprinting home to a three-quarter length triumph in a career best 1:55.3. Takeapeek At Me (Garrett Rooney) completed the top three.
The four-year-old gelded son of Resolve out of the Angus Hall mare Dont Talk Back won his fifth race of the year from 15 starts. In 55 career starts, The Great Reset has banked $132,106 and showcases a record of 11-10-16. Lorne House and Chantal Ruijs co-own the winner. At 2-1 odds, he paid $5.90 to win.
Tyler Borth scored five driving wins on the Tuesday evening card with Fern Hill Breeze ($2.90, 1:56.4), April Duford ($3.20, 1:58.4), Js Betthislady ($40.60, 1:57), Journalistic ($3.30, 1:58.1) and Made Of Magic ($4.90, 1:59.1).
