Tobins Brownie On Top At Red Shores
A wet night led to a front-end victory for Tobins Brownie in the Thursday, May 9 evening feature at Red Shores Racetrack and Casino at the Charlottetown Driving Park.
The $3,700 Fillies and Mares Preferred Pace had Tobins Brownie and trainer-driver David Dowling cut out all the action through sloppy conditions to win in 2:02.2. After a review of the race by the officials with the Atlantic Province’s Harness Racing Commission, Ms Moyse (Adam Merner) was second ahead of Chelski (Corey MacPherson), who was third. Unofficial second-place finisher Share The Moment was placed to fourth for being inside three consecutive pylons.
Dowling conditions the 31-time winning Tobins Brownie for owners Brittany Dowling, Sandra Weeks and Errol Burgoyne.
Dowling also scored from his own barn as a trainer-driver in race two as newcomer Arts Beach was a winner in 2:02.4 for owner Albert Hickox of South Freetown, P.E.I.
Rosetown Mary had the fastest trip of the night in her $3,000 class winning in 1:58.4 over the track rated three seconds off for trainer-driver MacPherson and owners Rosetown Stable and Taylor MacPherson.
