Youth Foundation Scholarship Applications Due June 1
The deadline for Harness Horse Youth Foundation (HHYF) scholarship applications is approaching fast. Completed online applications are due by June 1, but early submission is encouraged.
To access the applications and each scholarship’s eligibility requirements and general information, visit hhyf.org. Applicants for HHYF scholarships must be at least high school seniors and preferably under the age of 25. The selection criteria for all of the scholarships include demonstrated scholastic achievement, including but not limited to the applicant’s GPA, financial need completeness of application and quality of essay (where applicable).
The HHYF scholarships are the Harold & Marcia Snyder Memorial Scholarship for students in harness racing families, the Curt Greene Memorial Scholarship for students who have demonstrated a passion for harness racing and have financial need and the Sweet Karen Memorial Scholarship for alumni of HHYF Summer Programs. The Lynn Fortna Memorial Financial Assistance Program is open to females who wish to further their education or expand their knowledge in any aspect of harness racing. The Harness Horse Youth Foundation is a charitable 501(c)3 organization dedicated to providing young people and their families educational opportunities with harness horses, in order to foster the next generation of participants and fans. The foundation has been making a difference in young people’s lives since 1976, and its programs include interactive learning experiences with these versatile animals, scholarship programs, and creation and distribution of educational materials.
