Andy Over Strong In Western Fair Preferred
Andy Over returned to the winner's circle after the top class, the $11,600 Preferred Handicap Trot, at The Raceway at Western Fair District on Tuesday, May 7.
Driver Ed Hensley and trainer Ashleigh Hensley teamed up to send the gelding to the gate in post three in the featured class of six trotters. Andy Over got away third through the opening panel in :28.3 before pulling first over through the half in :58.4. After the half-mile marker, Andy Over found his way back to the pylons, now in the lead and in control of the timer. He raced uncontested through the three-quarters in 1:27 and continued home to win by 1-3/4 lengths in 1:57. Bucktober (Tyler Borth) rallied from last to take second and Lass Shot (Garrett Rooney) completed the top three.
Andy Over (Andovers Son-Victory Love) is a seven-year-old gelding owned by Ed & Ashleigh Hensley. He recorded his sixth win in 16 starts this year and 34th career victory from 170 starts. He has banked $263,568 in career earnings. As the 2-1 second choice, Andy Over returned $5.70 to win.
