Insanity Upsets In London Preferred Trot

The only thing crazier than his name were his longshot odds as Insanity won every step of the mile in the $11,600 Preferred Trot on Tuesday evening (April 30) at The Raceway at Western Fair District with the second highest odds on the board.

Jason Ryan and the Ben Hollingsworth student maintained a generous lead through panels in :28.2, :58.4 and 1:27.3 before going on to win by 1-1/2 lengths in 1:57.4. Favoured Andy Over (Ed Hensley) finished second and Thirdtimesthedream (Colin Kelly) took third.

Michael Goldberg owns the six-year-old gelded son of Muscle Mass out of the Angus Hall mare Appleby Hall. Insanity earned his second win of the year and his 17th career tally. In 111 starts, he has made $183,762 in lifetime earnings. As the 11-1 longshot, he returned $23.60 to win.
