Acceptable Risk Wires Preferred Foes
Trevor Henry put the pedal to the metal early with Acceptable Risk in Monday’s $12,000 Preferred 2 Pace at The Raceway at the Western Fair District, and once the veteran cleared it was game over

Acceptable Risk, who left from Post 4, darted to the top and sliced out splits of :28.2, :58.4 and 1:27.2 before using a :28.4 kicker to win by 2-3/4 lengths over Just Crowned in a time of 1:56.1. Third prize went to War Boots in the eight-horse affair.
Trainer Dave Morrissey of Ailsa Craig shares ownership on the classy campaigner with Dan McCann and William Woodburn of Parkhill, Ont. The nine-year-old son of Intrepid Seelster-Southernbound Lady improved his 2012 record to 2-3-4 in 12 tries with the win, and he pushed his lifetime win total to 48 in the process. The lion’s share of the purse helped push his overall cash stash to $707,143.
Driver Trevor Henry added to his lead in the drivers’ standings at the London half-miler thanks to a three-win day at the office, but the hottest hands of the 12-race card belonged to J.R. Plante. He finished the card with four trips to victory lane.
