Nominations must be made to the Red Shores Charlottetown
Race Office by Monday, August 5 th at 3:00 p.m.

Conditions:

Open event for Trotters aged three (3) years and older, open to Mares, Horses, and Geldings.

1. All events conducted under the rules and regulations of the Atlantic Provinces Harness
Racing Commission, Standardbred Canada and Red Shores.
2. Nominations due by Monday, August 5 th, 2024 by 3:00 p.m. Those nominating horses to
these events are responsible for eligibility.
3. Declarations close at the time and date posted on the weekly condition sheet.
4. All races will be at a distance of one (1) mile unless otherwise stated.
5. All starting positions shall be drawn electronically using the electronic draw system
provided by Standardbred Canada.
6. Purse distribution:
a. 5 or more starters: 50 — 25 — 12 — 8 — 5%;
b. 4 starters: 50 — 25 — 15 —10%;
c. 3 starters: 60 — 30 — 10%;
d. 2 starters: 65 — 35%;
e. 1 starter: 100%.
7. Minimum of two (2) pari-mutuel starts before the nomination date within the Maritimes
in 2024 to be eligible for the series.
8. Minimum of ten (10) nominations required to fill this series. If less than 10 nominations
are received the event may proceed at the discretion of Red Shores.
9. If 10-17 nominations are received, the top eight (8) money earners from the eliminations
will race in the final, the 9 th-17th place money earners (9 horses) will race in the
consolation; if a tie for 9 th place it will be selected by lot.
10. If more than 18 nominations received, the top nine (9) money earners will race in the
final, the 10-18th place money earners (9 horses) will race in the consolation; if a tie for
9 th place it will be selected by lot.
11. There must be a minimum of six (6) entries for the consolation. In the event that there
are fewer than six (6) entries, Red Shores reserves the right to cancel the consolation.
12. In the event there is no consolation Red Shores reserves the right to have 9 starters in
the final of the series.
13. In the event that there is a consolation, horses that earn enough money in the series to qualify for
the finals cannot race in the consolation.
14. In the event of a tie, the entry will be selected by lot.
15. Red Shores reserves the right to refuse any nomination, rearrange programs and in the
event that on the day of the scheduled race, the operation of races cannot be held for
any reason whatsoever, they reserve the right to reschedule the race to an APHRC
approved future race date or cancel it in which case all monies paid will be refunded.
16. All owners, trainers, drivers must be members in good standing with the APHRC and
Standardbred Canada.
17. All horses must meet the qualifying standards of Red Shores.
18. In the consolation or final, should there be horses with common ownership; Red Shores
reserves the right (as per APHRC rule 206) to uncouple horses for pari-mutuel purposes.
19. A declaration for this event is an agreement to all the above terms and conditions.
20. Red Shores accepts no responsibility or liability for any accident, loss or damage, which
may occur on the property as a result of these races.
21. If there is more than one division of the preliminary legs or eliminations, each division
will race for 100% of the advertised purse.
