Sprocket Repeats In Harrington Open Pace
Tlb Racing’s Sprocket ($5.20) notched his second straight win and 33rd of his career in 1:52.4 in the $30,822 Open Pace on Monday, April 22 at Harrington Raceway.
Driven by Pat Berry, the nine-year-old Sportswriter gelding raced from off the pace early but quickly gathered momentum and brushed by early leader Dontlikeitleave near the three-quarters and breezed to a two-length score over Baba O Riley and Sir Charles Of Sky. Sprocket earned his fourth win of the year from 11 starts for trainer Traci Berry and pushed his bankroll over $520,000 in career earnings.
Brenda Teague’s Hundred Dollar Man ($2.20) made his three-year-old debut a winning one with a 1:53.1 win. The Lather Up gelding was a front-end winner by fourth lengths in rein to Montrell Teague. The Clyde Francis trainee has Ohio Sire Stakes events on the horizon after a successful freshman campaign during which he banked $108,619.
Ross Wolfenden had three wins on the card. Bart Dalious, Pat Berry and Art Stafford Jr. each had a double.
Joe Columbo had a training triple for owners George and Tina Dennis.
Montrell Teague had a driving double for owner Brenda Teague and trainer Clyde Francis.
