London Preferred Trot Taken By Bucktober
Bucktober has rolled into 2024 with a storm of success and the Katie MacNeil student rolled through the $11,600 Preferred Trot in a gate-to-wire triumph on Tuesday (April 9) evening at The Raceway at Western Fair District.
Tyler Borth and Bucktober were caught on the outside through the opening panel and they were first to click the timer in :28.3 before continuing into the lead along the pylons. After posting two more splits in :59 and 1:27.4, Bucktober used a :29 final panel to open up to a 4-1/4-length victory in 1:56.4. Insanity (Jason Ryan) pocketed second and Andy Over (Ed Hensley) rounded out the triactor.
Bucktober (Flanagan Memory-Armbro Equinox) is a five-year-old gelding owned by Tyler Borth, William Borth and Karen Sparling. He earned his fourth win in 11 starts this year and 23rd career victory in 57 starts. All 11 starts this year have been in the money for Bucktober, who has now banked $139,568 lifetime. He returned $3.40 to win.
