More 'Moulton' Wins For MacMillan
Trainer John MacMillan continued to dominate the Russ Moulton Memorial Series on Sunday night at Rideau Carleton Raceway with a pair of repeat winners in the second leg
.
The MacMillan-trained Riding With P ($2.60) turned back Eagle Hot Shot en route to a 1:57.2 three length tally in the first $6,700 division with Ted McDonald in the sulky. Edward Gorc of Sudbury, Ont. owns the three-year-old Lis Mara gelding, who now has six wins and four seconds on his 10-race seasonal record.
Talk Back ($2.10) also doubled up in the series for the MacMillan-McDonald team with a 1:57.4 wire-to-wire score in his division. MacMillan also owns the three-year-old Tell All gelding with Pam Perrin, Spencerville, Ont. Talk Back has put together a record reading 6-1-1 in nine 2012 starts.
The other division was won by the pocket-pulling Access Key ($2.80) in 1:56.4 for driver Stephane Gendron and trainer Jamie Copley. The grey four-year-old son of Mach Three, who finished second in his only other start this year in round one of the series, is owned Ozzie Mackay of Moncton, N.B. and Emmons Ralph Mackay of Truro, N.S.
Copley also had a double on the 15-race card while the track's leading conditioner Rene Allard won four races with brother Simon driving.
The pacing series is for horses and geldings that are non-winners of $15,000 lifetime by the end of the 2011 campaign.
