So Frisky Takes Western Fair Distaff Preferred
So Frisky topped the Tuesday (March 12) evening card at The Raceway at Western Fair District after she won the featured $11,600 Fillies and Mares Preferred Handicap Pace.
Colin Kelly settled into the center of the wings with So Frisky. As the car drew away and the field rounded towards the opening panel, the Anita Ouellette student landed in third. After the :27.4 first quarter, So Frisky tipped to the outside on the first-over journey through the half in :58.1 and three-quarters in 1:26.1, where she achieved the lead from the outside. She continued home with a :29.4 final panel to win by 1-1/4 lengths in 1:56. Shoot The Whiskey (Travis Cullen) finished second and Laila Blue (Travis Henry) took third.
So Frisky is an eight-year-old Dali-Beauty Delight mare owned by Luc Oullette, who bred the mare in partnership with Paul Bernard. The mare won her third race in seven starts so far this season, accompanying two thirds, a fourth and a fifth. In her 141 career starts, So Frisky has had 41 wins to go along with $325,053. Going to the gate at 9-2 odds, the mare returned $11 to win.
