Winning It Romps In Donna Dunn Series

Hammered down to 1-9, Winning It justified that faith Friday when she jogged to an easy victory in the Donna Dunn Memorial Pace at The Meadows

.

Sand Latte and Sharkist Breeze also captured $15,000 opening-leg divisions in the series for three- and four-year-old filly and mare pacers

The series is named for the late Donna Dunn, longtime Standardbred owner and the wife of veteran horseman and USTA Director Boots Dunn.

Away fourth for Dave Palone, Winning It powered to the lead with a quarter-pole move that effectively ended the race early. The three-year-old daughter of Dragon Again-Day After Day scored in a career-best 1:53 over Metro Ville. Early leader Sanctity Hanover was third.

Ron Burke trains Winning It, who now has won six of her nine lifetime starts, for Burke Racing Stable, Weaver Bruscemi LLC and Panhellenic Stable.

Trainer Rich Gillock fashioned a triple on the 15-race card.
