Pick 5 Carryover For Tuesday At Northfield
When racing resumes at MGM Northfield Park on Tuesday, March 12, gamblers will have a significant opportunity to score after Sunday's Pick-5 went unsolved for a second straight night, sporting a $19,797 carryover.
While Tre Cruz (Chris Lems) kicked off the Pick-5 as the second choice, favourites did not fare well throughout the remainder of the sequence.
Thornbush Hanover (Hunter Myers) scored an impressive gate-to-wire victory from post eight for trainer Jodi Schillaci and owners Schillaci Stables, Sam Bova Racing, Gabe Prewitt and Vincent Costa Jr. as the fourth choice on the board.
One race later, Edward Miller trainee Betmetowin (Kurt Sugg) made a big move in the middle half and crushed his competition, drawing off to win by four lengths, returning $16.20 to his followers.
The final two legs featured a number of massive upsets, with Billy Lincoln N (Tyler Angus) closing valiantly from off the pace to win by 2-1/2 lengths in 1:58.3, returning $68.20, and Honeymoon Trail (Myers) scoring a neck victory after being parked the mile from the second tier, returning $42.40.
The pool on Tuesday is hosted in conjunction with the United States Trotting Association's Strategic Wagering Program. It has a $1 minimum and a low 14 per cent takeout. Free past performances for the Pick-5 that begins in Race 6 will be available on Monday at handicapping.ustrotting.com.
Live harness racing on Tuesday kicks off at 6 p.m
