Beckwith Sweeps Saratoga Monday Features
Driver Brett Beckwith continued his red-hot start to the 2024 season at Saratoga Casino Hotel on Monday, March 4 as the 21-year-old reinsman piled up four more winners, including a sweep of the afternoon's $12,838 co-features.
Beckwith teamed up his with father Mark's trainee, Go Dancing A, to win the first division of the card's top conditioned pace. The A Rocknroll Dance gelding overcame post eight to win for the third consecutive time. The 2-1 favourite in the wagering despite the unlucky post draw, Go Dancing A surged out to the early lead under the urging of an aggressive Beckwith, who guided the seven-year-old pacer to a season's best 1:54.2 score for owner Joshua Graber. Flying Image and Aces Or Bettor finished 3-3/4 lengths behind in second and third, respectively.
Lupa and Beckwith won the card's other top pacing division in 1:57.2 for trainer Al Annunziata and owner Tammy Sowers.
The Beckwith stable doubled up on Monday with Pax Hanover posting a 1:59.1 seasonal best showing in a $10,811 trot for the young reinsman who has powered out to a commanding lead in the driver standings in the meet's opening month.
Live harness racing continues on Tuesday afternoon with a matinee that begins at noon.
