Hollys Treasure Wires Preferred Foes In London
After a near miss in last week’s Preferred Pace at The Raceway at Western Fair District, Hollys Treasure marched to the top and didn’t look back en route to a sharp score in Monday evening’s $11,000 main event.
In rein to Dan Clements, Hollys Treasure powered to the top from post five and carved out fractions of :27.2, :57.2 and 1:25.3 before using a closing kick of :29 to win by 1-3/4 lengths over race favourite P L Oliver in 1:54.3. Im Sponge Worthy finished third.
Cassidy Schneider trains the homebred for owner Colonel Schneider Jr. of Arthur, Ont. The six-year-old son of State Treasurer-L H Hollys Cam is a 22-time winner who is closing in on $150,000 in career earnings. He paid $10.80 to win.
