SBOA Stallion Auction Ends Friday At Noon
Have you booked your mares for breeding in 2024? The Standardbred Breeders of Ontario Association (SBOA) online stallion auction might be able to help you.
The auction has 15 Ontario-based stallions ready for bidding, but closes on Friday, Feb. 16 at 12 noon. This auction is for one breeding per stallion for the 2024 season. To view and bid on the SBOA stallion auction, click here.
If a bid occurs for a stallion in the last 60 seconds of the sale, the auction for that stallion will be extended for another 120 seconds or until all bidding ceases.
All bidders must register with the auction site in order to place a bid. All bids are in Canadian dollars. Please increase bids by a minimum of $100.
Once you have placed a bid, the auction will notify you by email if a higher bid has been placed on your stallion. The successful bidder will be notified by email after the auction closes.
There is a $250 deposit required from each successful buyer. The winning bid plus HST minus the $250 deposit is due and payable to the SBOA when the 2025 foal is born. The winning bid only covers the service fee. Any semen preparation, shipping, board, veterinary and other costs are the responsibility of the mare owner. If the mating does not result in a live foal, then the $250 is forfeited to the SBOA.
The SBOA accepts payment by cheque, cash or e-transfer.
The winning bidders can contact Aimee Adams, SBOA's secretary, by email at [email protected] or by calling 519-833-2861 to arrange payment.
