Outlaw Allie Oops, Ellis Top Century Saturday
Outlaw Allie Oops won her 25th lifetime victory on Saturday, Jan. 20 at Century Mile in the $14,000 Fillies And Mares Preferred and the victory marked her first career Preferred tally as well as completed a training triple on the card for Travis Ellis.
Phil Giesbrecht and Outlaw Allie Oops settled in fifth off the car in the feature and maintained their position through the opening panel in :29.2. After that split, Outlaw Allie Oops made a wide sweep to take command of the field. After setting two more panels in :58.1 and 1:27, the Ellis student opened up to win by 4-3/4 lengths in 1:55. Jakara (Brandon Campbell) finished second and Sunshineatthebeach (Jamie Gray) rounded out the top three.
The eight-year-old Blue Burner-Isle Of Shoals mare is owned by Trevor Williams and Timothy Gordon. She moved her career sum to $123,718. As the 5-1 second choice in the field of seven, Outlaw Allie Oops returned $11.70 to win.
Travis Ellis tripled on the Saturday evening card, also sending out winners Tuff As Buff ($11.90), driven to a 2-1/4-length victory in 1:57.4 by Mike Hennessy, and Iknowyouknow ($4.70), winning by three-quarters of a length in 2:01.3, also driven by Hennessy.
