Enough Hanover Wins Windsor Preferred
It took every inch of racetrack for Enough Hanover to prevail as the odds-on choice in Sunday's feature race – the $10,000 Preferred Pace – at Windsor Raceway.
The five-year-old son of Dragon Again, who was making his second start for owner/trainer Mike Kastel, got away sixth in the early stages of the mile before tipping to the outside for driver Don Cincebox and catching second-over cover as the field neared the mid-way point.
The gelding rolled three-wide on the way to the three-quarter pole, and he used a :29.1 final frame to seal the deal by a neck. Goodbye So Long, who whacked out panels of :27.1, :56.2 and 1:25.3, was a brave runner-up. Savor The Memory was third.
With the win, Enough Hanover's 2008 record improved to 6-5-6 in 29 starts, and his seasonal bankroll climbed to $54,535.
