Breyer Adds Atlanta To Collection
The year was 2018 and the scene was the Hambletonian – one of harness racing’s biggest events. A race for three-year-old trotters, Atlanta became the first filly in 22 years (and only the 14th in history) to win and clinch the lion's share of the $1 million purse! She went on to receive the Dan Patch Award for Trotter of the Year in 2018.
Atlanta wasn’t done making history yet. In the 2021 Allerage Farms Open Mare Trot at the Red Mile, Atlanta’s incredible 1:49 win with driver Yannick Gingras earned her another title: history’s co-fastest female trotter!
Owned by Michelle and Albert Crawford of Crawford Farms, Atlanta was originally trained by Rick Zeron and driven by Scott Zeron, with Ron Burke training her from age four on. Retired in 2022 as the fourth richest female trotter for U.S. earnings with $3.5 million, she’s now raising the next generation of racing superstars.
With a “heart of gold and determination like no other,” as Michelle Crawford aptly describes her, Atlanta is truly one of a kind.
In honour of Atlanta's achievements, Breyer Animal Creations has chosen the history-making mare its latest horse model for its traditional collection.
