Windsun Tiara Earns Lifetime Mark In Meadows Feature
On the bench since Oct. 19, Windsun Tiara returned to the wars on a mission, earning a 1:52.4 lifetime mark — over a “good” surface — in Thursday’s feature at Hollywood Casino at The Meadows, an $11,900 filly and mare conditioned pace.
Driver Dave Palone put Windsun Tiara into play early in the mile, finding themselves parked to the opening quarter by PJs Fancy Dancer and Jeremy Indof in :27. Windsun Tiara cleared before yielding to the pocket behind All Of Me and Dan Charlino on the way to the half in :55.2. The duo remained one-two through three-quarters in 1:23.2 before Palone angled Windsun Tiara up the passing lane at the top of the stretch. Shooting up the rail with a :29.1 final quarter, Windsun Tiara picked up the victory by three-quarters of a length over All Of Me. PJs Fancy Dancer held for third.
Randy Bendis trains Windsun Tiara, who vaulted over $100,000 in career earnings, and owns with Pollack Racing LLC. The victory was the third in 27 lifetime starts for the three-year-old daughter of American Ideal-Windsun Princess.
Palonem, Jeremy Indof, Jack Killeen, Hunter Myers and Ronnie Wrenn Jr. each enjoyed a double on the 13-race card.
Live harness racing at The Meadows continues on Friday, with first post at 12:45 p.m. Because Friday’s 14-race program is the last of the year, carryovers are not permitted, so the final Pick 4, Pick 5, Superfecta and Pentafecta all will be “must pay.”
