Chase H Hanover Three-Peats In Meadows Open
Chase H Hanover zipped to the lead from post six and rolled to his third straight victory in Friday’s (Dec. 22) $21,200 Open Handicap Pace at Hollywood Casino at The Meadows.
Chase H Hanover had to pace a :26.1 opening panel to reach the point, but once Dave Palone gave him a :29 second-quarter breather, the race for win was effectively over. The five-year-old Captaintreacherous-Calgary Hanover gelding triumphed in 1:50.1, 1-1/4 lengths better than the pocket-sitting Liteningonthebeach. Bereaved Hanover rallied for show.
Virgil Morgan Jr. trains Chase H Hanover, who now boasts a career bankroll of $918,377, for Bottom Line Racing LLC and Carl Howard.
Aaron Merriman enjoyed a three-bagger — for the third straight day — on the 13-race card.
Live harness racing at The Meadows resumes on Wednesday, Dec. 27 when the program features a $662.90 carryover in the Pick 5 (race nine). First post is 12:45 p.m.
