Flyingevenbettor N Soars In Flamboro Preferred
Flyingevenbettor N delivered as the 6-5 bettors' choice in the $11,000 Preferred Pace, which highlighted the 11-race Flamboro Downs card on Sunday, Dec. 17.
Leaving from post three with driver Brett MacDonald aboard, Flyingevenbettor N found himself three-deep in a mad dash for the lead in the opening turn before forging to the front to the outside of Cheddar Bay and J Harris to the opening quarter in a wicked :26.3. Flyingevenbettor N cleared entering the second turn, where MacDonald slowed the tempo down on the way to the half, reaching that station in :56.4.
The field remained in straight alignment until reaching the backstretch, where Arties Ideal and Samuel Fillion were the first to move from fourth, quickly powering first-up into second as Flyingevenbettor N led to three-quarters in 1:26.
Arties Ideal engaged the leader entering the far turn before Flyingevenbettor N reached the top of the stretch 1-3/4 lengths to the good. Arties Ideal made one final lunge at the leader in the stretch; however, Flyingevenbettor N dug in gamely with a :28.2 final quarter to reach the wire in front by three-quarters of a length in 1:54.2. P L Oliver and Colin Kelly rallied for the third spot.
The victory was the second consecutive and eighth overall in 36 seasonal outings for Flyingevenbettor N. Trained by Richard Moreau, the seven-year-old gelded son of Bettors Delight-Flying Mrswilliams is owned by Brad Grant and has now banked $319,019 for his career.
The victory was one of three on the night for MacDonald, who also steered Buddy Light and Shawn Pops to the winner's circle.
