Travis Henry topped the Thursday (Nov. 23) evening card at Flamboro Downs with five driving wins in the 11 races carded at the Dundas, Ont. oval.
Henry got the ball rolling with a 1:57.2 victory by a neck with Isaac Waxman trainee Hapuna Beach ($4.00) in the second race, claiming pace worth a $6,000 purse. In the following race, a claimer worth $4,200, he won with Godiva Lovely Lady ($3.80) also by a neck in 2:02.1 for Francis Guillemette. In race five, Henry and Vicious Aloicious ($7.40) won the claimer worth $4,800 by three-quarters of a length in 1:58.2 for Joe Pereira. Then, in race six, a claimer worth $6,000, Henry and Waxman teamed up again for a gate-to-wire victory by three-quarters of a length in 1:58.1 with High Rolling A ($6.30). To complete his five win tear and a natural hat trick in races five through seven, Henry steered Lions Wish Nl ($8.50) to a one length victory in 2:00.1 for Guillemette in the $6,000 conditioned trot.
Bradley Harris and Shawn Steacy trainee, In The Mood, took the $11,000 Fillies and Mares Preferred on the Thursday evening card.
In The Mood settled in for the pocket trip through panels in :28.3, :58, and 1:26.3 behind a pacesetting Major League N (Ed Hensley). Favoured Jks Rollin Baby (Jason Ryan) made a first over move up the backstretch, but that bid stalled and allowed In The Mood and Major League N to battle down the stretch. In The Mood prevailed by a half length in 1:56.3 over Major League N. Randomirogeo (Travis Henry) completed the top three.
Breeder Hudson Standrdbrd Stb Inc owns the four-year-old Sunshine Beach mare for her sixth win of the season and 15th career tally. She moved her lifetime bankroll to $284,447. She paid $9.40 to win in the 4-1 mild upset.
