Yank My Halo Tops Mohawk Thursday Feature
Yank My Halo won the featured $18,000 conditioned trot at Woodbine Mohawk Park on Thursday, Nov. 16 in a career-best time with Bob McClure holding the lines for trainer Roger Mayotte.
McClure and Yank My Halo got away third from post seven in the field of nine while Northern Classic (Jody Jamieson) and Frenchy Hanover (Louis-Philippe Roy) battled for the top. Northern Classic was the first to the opening panel in :28.1 before the favoured Frenchy Hanover took command. After a :57.1 half, McClure tugged on his right line and sent the Mayotte student to the outside. The pair remained in third on the outside at the three-quarters in 1:26.3 and then, charged to take over the lead. Down the lane, Yank My Halo achieved a comfortable lead to win by 1-3/4 lengths in 1:55.1. HP Joni Moni (Tyler Borth) took second and Titan Flax S (James MacDonald) rounded out the top three.
Yank My Halo is co-owned by Just In Time Stable, R A W Equine Inc., Big Als Stables and Ben Mudry. The sophomore son of Archangel scored a new lifetime mark and moved his career win count to three with a new bankroll sum of $54,760. He paid $11.60 to win.
