Two New Stallions For Ohio
Dr. J Stallion Management has announced two new additions to the stallion ranks in the state of Ohio.
French Wine, the fastest three-year-old trotter of 2023 and second fastest trotter of the year overall, brings an impressive race resume and an impeccable pedigree to Ohio.
From the family of Bella Bellini (1:49.4; $2,225,123) and Bond (3,1:51.2; $1,44,665), French Wine (Bar Hopping - Creamy Mimi) trotted to his two-year-old record of 1:53 winning the final of the Kentucky Sire Stakes at The Red Mile. French Wine’s other victories at the age of two include a leg of the Pennsylvania Sire Stakes at Harrah’s Philadelphia and two legs of the KYSS at the Red Mile.
Flawlessly gaited, French Wine is the fastest three-year-old trotter of 2023 by virtue of his 1:50 win in a leg of the KYSS at The Red Mile (defeating Tactical Approach) with a dazzling last quarter of :26.2. French Wine also won the PASS final at Harrah’s Philadelphia with a 1:51.4 mile over that five-eighths mile oval. French Wine was second in his elimination of the Hambletonian, second in a division of the Bluegrass at The Red Mile in 1:50.2 (with another last quarter of :26.2), second in his elimination of the Breeders Crown and second in the Kentucky Futurity by a head. A colt with extreme speed, French Wine trotted five sub-1:52 miles and five last quarters of :27 or faster.
French Wine will stand at Winterwood Farm in Bellville, Ohio for a fee of $6,000.
Rockyroad Hanover (pictured above) is a royally-bred son of the great Captaintreacherous and out of the millionaire Romantic Moment (p,3,1:50.1f; $1,077,352). Possessing raw speed and true class, Rockyroad Hanover was one of the elite colts of his year.
At the age of three, Rockyroad Hanover won the Cane Pace at the Meadowlands in 1:48.1 defeating Perfect Sting. He also won the Progress Pace at Dover in 1:49.3 defeating Abuckabett Hanover, Lous Pearlman and Charlie May.
As a four-year-old, Rockyroad Hanover won the Roll With Joe at the Meadowlands in 1:46.2 with a last quarter of :25, defeating Charlie May. Rockyroad Hanover was second to the incomparable Bulldog Hanover in a leg of the Graduate, the William Haughton Memorial, the McKee Memorial and the Dan Patch. In total, Rockyroad Hanover paced four miles in 1:47 or faster and 12 last quarters in 26 seconds or faster.
Rockyroad Hanover will stand at Winterwood Farm in Bellville, Ohio for a fee of $5,500.
