Acefortyfour Dome Headlines P.E.I. Mares On Remembrance Day
The fastest lasses in East Coast harness racing return on Saturday afternoon (Nov. 11) during a program with a special post time at Red Shores Racetrack and Casino at the Charlottetown Driving Park.
The city track has 14 dashes starting at a special post time of 2 p.m., pushed back in observance of Remembrance Day.
Race 13 of the day is the $3,500 Fillies and Mares Preferred Pace with Acefortyfour Dome selected to win from post three. Jason Hughes trains and drives the daughter of Up The Credit for owner Donald MacRae of Vernon Bridge, P.E.I. The mare has won four of 29 starts this season while banking over $29,000.
Redlandbethanyjean has rail control in the dash after a successful sophomore season with six wins and $39,573 earned from the Tom Weatherbie barn. Brodie MacPhee is listed to drive the daughter of Artspeak.
Post seven has D Gs Elsa from the red-hot Luke Burke stable. The 18-year-old trainer has put together a solid campaign in his rookie season including winning the Fillies and Mares Preferred class with D Gs Elsa in her last start for driver Ken Murphy.
The field also includes Plain Jane (Adam Merner) from post two, Tobins Brownie (David Dowling) from post four, Chelski (Corey MacPherson) holding down post five, Atlantic Star (Kenny Arsenault) from post six and Dreamfair Zenfire (Marc Campbell) holding down the outside post eight.
The "Post Time Picks" has selected Acefortyfour Dome to win: “Acefortyfour Dome was a front-end winner in the Atlantic Mares final three starts back. She’s coming off two covered trips so I think she rolls gate-to-wire today.”
Race one is the Remembrance Day Lest We Forget Pace with Machbook Pro (MacPherson) the morning line favourite from post five for owner Mark Ramsay of Middle Sackville, N.S.
