Harness Racing Returns To Florida

Sunshine Meadows

Harness racing returns to Florida on Saturday, Nov. 4 as the Florida Standardbred Breeders and Owners Association (FSBOA) will present eight Sunshine State Stakes events -- four each for two-year-olds and three-year-olds.

The eight-race program will be held at Sunshine Meadows Equestrian Village in Delray Beach, Florida with post time set for 11 a.m.

Several notable three-year-olds who made headlines over the excellent Sunshine Meadows one-mile oval last year include Gator Growl (sired by Well Said), Easy As That (Tarver Hanover), Prairie Lynx (Royal Millennium), Flo Jo (Keystone Velocity), Prairie Nugget (Shibboleth Hanover), Prairie Famous (Diamond Goal), Kings Sweetheart (Big Chocolate) and Legacys Jailbreak (Dontyouforgetit), all winners last season in FSBOA action.

Several two-year-olds will be making their racing debuts, as well.

Among the notable horsemen that are expected to compete on Saturday are Wally Hennessey, Mickey McNichol and Kevin Wallis.

Sunshine Meadows will host these FSBOA stakes events for six Saturdays concluding with Super Saturday on Dec. 11.

Sunshine Meadows is located at 16668 Winners Circle, Delray Beach, FL 33446, on Rt. 441, just minutes north of Glades Road.
