Strangles Case Confirmed In Ontario Standardbred

The Equine Disease Communication Centre has reported that a case of equine strangles has been reported in a Standardbred located in Ontario.
On Oct. 26, the case was confirmed in a Standardbred weanling colt located in the City of Kawartha Lakes, Ont. after displaying clinical signs of submandibular lymph node abscessation. The confirmed case is in voluntary quarantine. A second case is suspected.
