Cold Creek Queso Cracks The Preferred Level
Cold Creek Queso cracked the code and connected for his first victory at Woodbine Mohawk Park's Preferred level on Saturday, Oct, 28.
A field of eight slated to contest the $36,000 event was reduced to six with two scratches. Cold Creek Queso cleared for driver Jody Jamieson heading into the opening turn and didn't look back from there. After a :27.1 opening quarter and :56.2 half, Cold Creek Queso paced his back half in :55 through a 1:24.2 third station and :27 closer to trip the timer in 1:51.2. Funatthebeach N (Trevor Henry) flashed good late speed to finish second, 1-1/2 lengths back of the victor with longshot Cadillac Bayama (Brett MacDonald) next best.
Cold Creek Queso (Betterthancheddar - Machbethslady) now sports seven wins this season and 14 lifetime along with $451,929 in lifetime earnings. Cold Creek Standardbred of Grafton, Ont. own the four-year-old gelding, who returned $3.40 to win. Murray Brethour handles the conditioning.
