Fix A Drink Wires Rideau Preferred

Fix A Drink and Jimmy Gagnon went gate-to-wire to win the $10,000 Preferred Handicap Trot at Rideau Carleton Raceway on Thursday (Oct. 26) evening.
After posting panels in :28, :58.3 and 1:27.3, the Pierre Leclerc trainee took off down the lane to a three-length victory in 1:56.2. Raising Rusty (Stephane Pouliot) finished second and Mask Of Zoro (Stephane Brosseau) was fourth-placed-third.
Leclerc co-owns the six-year-old gelded son of Angus Hall with breeder Shaun Baines. Fix A Drink moved his career earnings to $77,576 as he picked up his fifth victory of the year from 19 starts and his 16th career tally. He paid $10.40 to win as the 4-1 third choice in the field of four.
