Confederate Leads Poll For 10th Straight Week
Confederate remained the No. 1 ranked Standardbred for the 10th consecutive week in the Hambletonian Society/Breeders Crown poll released on Tuesday, Oct. 24.
There was minimal movement in the Hambletonian Society/Breeders Crown poll for Week 20, with the top four horses unchanged and no newcomers joining the Top 10. Confederate, the unanimous choice, was followed by Sylvia Hanover, T C I and Tattoo Artist.
Geocentric moved from sixth to fifth, swapping spots with Tactical Approach. Bythemissal went to seventh from ninth, with Its My Show and Grace Hill each dropping one position. Alrajah One IT remained No. 10.
The Hambletonian Society/Breeders Crown poll does not determine U.S. Horse of the Year. The members of the U.S. Harness Writers Association vote on all Dan Patch Award division winners plus Trotter of the Year, Pacer of the Year and Horse of the Year.
Rankings based on the votes of harness racing media representatives on a 10-9-8-7-6-5-4-3-2-1 basis.

Despite winning his 12th consecutive race on Saturday, Shark Week, the second-winningest horse in North America in 2023, inexplicably only received a single vote, 3 fewer votes than he received last week.

And Shark Week broke his own track record again on Sat Oct 21st at Century Mile. His 3rd track record win at the Mile.
