Sauble Attack Favoured In Summerside Preferred
After trouncing the top class in his latest outing, Sauble Attack will look to double up in the Tuesday evening featured Preferred 2 Pace at Red Shores at the Summerside Raceway.
The Prince County oval has a 14-dash presentation on Tuesday evening starting at 6 p.m., with the featured pace lining up in race 13 with $3,600 at stake.
Sauble Attack is favoured from post three with Ken Murphy receiving the driving assignment for co-owner and trainer Paul Biggar of Tyne Valley, P.E.I., and co-owner Donald Callbeck of Summerside, P.E.I. The five-year-old son of Bettors Delight is a winner of $103,000 lifetime and is looking for win number 20 of his career.
Frontier Cruise (Brady Sweet) will start from post four after a runner-up finish to Sauble Attack last week. Trained by Jean Belliveau of New Brunswick, the Sunshine Beach six-year-old is also one win shy of 20 lifetime.
Navalny (Adam Merner) will have rail control from the Melissa Rennie stable while KD Overdrive (Kyle Mason) has drawn post two. Soccer Hanover has hit the top-three in his last six starts and gets the driving talents of Corey MacPherson, who is running away in the driving standings with 58 wins at Red Shores Summerside in 2023. In second place amongst drivers at 45 wins is David Dowling, who is driving post six entry D Gs Elsa in the top class. Rounding out the Tuesday evening featured field is former top class winner Woodmere Ideal Art (Paul Langille).
The "Backstretch Beat" predicts Sauble Attack will deliver on his morning line promise: “Sauble Attack stomped his foes last time out in this class and gets the inside draw due to his claiming tag this week. He has all the credentials of a good horse and we say the winning continues in the top class of the night.”
The top mares class of the night lines up for a $2,800 pot in race 12 with Rock The Baby (Dowling) the top selection in the ultra-competitive class from post six for trainer Earl Watts and owner Windemere Farms of Springvale, P.E.I. Other top selections are post two entry Glenview Rhonda (Brodie MacPhee) and Dollys Sky (Kyle Desroche) from post four.
