Chelski Aims For Atlantic Aged Pacing Mares Final 

Harness Racing at Charlottetown Driving Park

Chelski and Corey MacPherson will make a bid for victory in the final dash on Saturday afternoon at Red Shores Racetrack and Casino at the Charlottetown Driving Park. 

With heavy rains forecasted in the early hours of Saturday, Oct. 21 the 12-dash race program has been pushed back to a 2 p.m. opening post time

The finale in the 12th is the Atlantic Aged Pacing Mares Series final, presented by Standardbred Canada, carrying a $14,850 purse. Chelski is the morning line favourite from post two with MacPherson in the bike for trainer Jennifer Doyle and owners Jeffrey and Robert Skinner of Nova Scotia. The Rollwithitharry mare was the winner of the $15,500 Steven and Joe MacRae Memorial earlier this month. Her main rivals Saturday are listed as Acefortyfour Dome (Jason Hughes) off the rail and Share The Moment (Gilles Barrieau) from post eight. 

Race 6 is the $8,500 Island Ocean Trot Mares Series final, presented by Burkie By The Bay Stable, with Alcina the top choice from post three with Barrieau aboard for trainer Jeff Holmes and owner Hardcore Racing of Belfast, P.E.I. 

The Home Hardware Maritime Breeders Stakes for trotters also take to the track on the afternoon card. 

Atlantic Breeders Crown champion Dusty Lane Wee is the top selection in the second race, a $9,450 two-year-old trot filly division in line to Marc Campbell for trainer Lenny Myers and owners Garry MacDonald and Ronnie Gass. 

Camco Laraido (Ken Murphy) gets the top call in Race 4, the $9,450 two-year-old trotting colt division, from post four for trainer Kyle Desroche and owner Leah Ann Moyer of Summerside, P.E.I. 

Irish Ray will look for the 19th win of his career from post six in the Maritime Breeders three-year-old trot division that includes colts and fillies. Campbell drives the son of Muscle Through It for trainer Brent Campbell and owner Three Wisemen Stable of Kingston, P.E.I.
