Zeron Bags Five At Woodbine
Rick Zeron steered five winners at Woodbine Racetrack on Friday night, which included Marnie Hall, who turned in an impressive mile in the $44,000 Mares Open Pace.
With Post 3, Marnie Hall dropped into third for Zeron at the :26.4 opening panel, which was set by Guestimate (Mark MacDonald). Zeron rushed the Mark Silva trainee to the lead and they cleared after a half flashed up in :55.2.
Under tight lines around the final turn, Marnie Hall cruised to the three-quarters in 1:23.3 and did not allow any of her seven rivals to get any closer as she won by two and a half lengths in 1:51.3. Pink Kangaroo (Steve Condren) closed to get second over Guestimate.
Daniel Plouffe and Jean Dessureault co-own Marnie Hall, who has two victories from 18 starts this year, banking $125,735. The six-year-old Blissful Hall mare won for the 19th time in her career as she now boasts earnings of $1,190,585.
Zeron also teamed up Presidents Choice (1:56.2), Fysia (1:53.2), Southwind Piaya (1:53.2), and Soaring Viking (1:52.4).
The five-win performance gives Zeron 231 on the season and 6,692 in his career.
