Meadows To Host Annual Pink Out Event On Friday
On Friday, Oct. 13, the Meadows Standardbred Owners Association (MSOA) and Hollywood Casino at The Meadows will stage their seventh annual Pink Out to advance breast cancer awareness, research and treatment, and this year’s event at The Meadows will offer a few special treats — including Corgi racing and a female drivers’ championship.
The 14-race live card kicks off at 5:10 p.m., and the American Cancer Society will win big no matter the results. That’s because the MSOA, The Meadows and the Great Lakes Amateur Driving Association (GLADA) are partnering for a $3,000 donation to the society. Donations from patrons are most welcome.
Corgi elimination races are set to follow harness races three, four and five, with the final going after race seven. The top dogs will receive food and merchandise certificates provided by event partner PetWorks located in Tanger Outlets.
Other Pink Out highlights:
- Family Fun Night - Activities include Mike The Balloon Guy, face painting, airbrush tattoos and a bounce house.
- Special Races - The female drivers championship goes as race two. In addition, race six is a $10,000 leg of the GLADA Trot where Tom “Mayhem” Svrcek seeks his fifth GLADA win at The Meadows this year.
- Treats for Kids - Children 12 and under wearing Halloween costumes may receive treat bags (while supplies last). Bring your goblin or ghoul to the MSOA table to get the goodies.
