Logan Park Three-Peats In Mohawk FFA
After equalling his career best last week, Logan Park returned to Woodbine Mohawk Park on Monday (Oct. 8) evening to trot that same mile for his third win in a row in the $42,000 Free For All Trot.
Oney Hall (Paul MacDonell) achieved the early lead to the opening panel in :27.2, but Logan Park and Doug McNair refused to sit in the pocket for long. McNair tugged on his right line and swept to the top. The pair had a 1-1/2 length advantage over the field at the half in :55.2 before opening it up to 2-1/2 lengths at the three-quarters in 1:23.3. Logan Park was in his element as he cruised to victory in 1:50.3, 2-1/2 lengths in front. Amigo Volo (Louis-Philippe Roy) used a :26.3 last quarter to take second and White Tiger (James MacDonald) sped from seventh to the show spot.
Owned by Outofthepark Stable, Reg Higgs and Arpad Szabo, the five-year-old son of Archangel and the Muscle Mass mare Rite Outa The Park sits just $4,518 shy of a $1 million career milestone. The gelding has earned 10 wins and three seconds in 17 starts this season. Only out of the money on two occasions, he boasts $275,270 earnings this season. Logan Park paid $2.40 to win as the favourite.
