Lady All Star Shines In Autumn Series Opener

Flamboro Downs racing action

After going winless in four starts as a freshman and not debuting as a sophomore until September 2023, Lady All Star appears to have found her best stride.

The daughter of My MVP - Lady Tini was bet down to 1-9 in the first leg of the Ontario Sired Autumn Series at Flamboro Downs on Saturday, Oct. 7 and she delivered like a 1-9 shot should.

With Brett MacDonald up between the wheels, Lady All Star made every call a winning one in her $8,500 assignment, carving out fractions of :29, 1:00 and 1:30.1 with no real serious threat in sight. The filly kicked home in :29.4 for good measure, hitting the wire in 2:00 with a five-length cushion over Northern Classic (Anthony Haughan), with Allstar Goldi (Scott Coulter) next best in third.

Trevin Shive trains and Dr. R. James Shive of Rines Creek, N.S. owns Lady All Star, now a three-time winner in her seven-start career with $13,275 in earnings.

The Ontario Sired Autumn Series is for two- and three-year-old Ontario-sired fillies that are non-winners of $10,000 lifetime as of Sept. 30, 2023.
