Radical Legacy Continues Prospect Series Streak
Two Prospect Series divisions went to the gate on Tuesday evening (Sept. 12) at Flamboro Downs with Radical Legacy leading the final timer for the freshman trotters.
Brett MacDonald steered Radical Legacy to a 1:59.4 victory for Gregg McNair in the $8,600 split for the fillies.
After controlling the opening panel in :29.1 from the outside, Radical Legacy cleared the lead on the pylons and took home two more panels in :58.4 and 1:30.1. Facing no threat in the final :29.3 panel, Radical Legacy cruised to a two-length win. Sandoon (Bruce Richardson) was second and Graceful China (Marielle Enberg) rounded out the top three.
Owned by Ross Holmes, Radical Legacy (Muscle Mass-Radical Janey) remained undefeated in her career, winning her third race in three attempts -- all Prospect Series divisions.
In the $8,800 split for the males, Lormer McClure took his trainee Expidition Pass to a 2:02.1 victory.
Expidition Pass sat in the pocket through the quarter in :30.3 and half in 1:01 while Dontalkaboutbruno (Brett MacDonald) led the charge. Livingitlarge (Lorne House) pulled first over and Expidition Pass remained on the pylons in third at the three-quarters in 1:31.2. The trio of trotters battled down the stretch for the win. Expidition Pass snuck up at the wire to win by a neck over Livingitlarge, who finished second by a neck over Dontalkaboutbruno.
McClure owns Expidition Pass (Alarm Detector-Angels Grace), who earned his third win in five career starts in the series.
