Western Fair Gearing Up For Busy Fall Meet
The Raceway at Western Fair District is less than a month away from kicking off its fall season on Monday, Oct. 2 and fans of the London, Ont. track will notice plenty of changes this season when racing resumes.
The race day broadcast has been revamped and will feature a fresh, new graphics package along with a new photo finish and timing system. The races will continue to be broadcast on a variety of platforms including live streaming on The Raceway’s popular YouTube channel, which can be accessed through the track’s website.
The Top Of The Fair dining room also has a new culinary team and new head chef this season who promises guests a new menu focused on modern, comfort food featuring high quality, locally-sourced ingredients. The dining room will be open each Friday evening as well as other special event days during the meet.
Guests can also watch and wager in the comfort of two new lounge spaces, The Raceway Lounge located on the second level of the grandstand as well as the new Top Of The Fair lounge.
The popular Survivor Tuesday contest will return this season with an ‘online only’ format. Participants must have an HPIBet account to qualify and play along in the weekly contests. The Raceway will have more exciting initiatives to announce in the coming days.
Several special events are planned this fall including the Donnie McElroy Memorial race on Friday, Oct. 13, London Classic Yearling Sale with a special menu at the Top Of The Fair on Tuesday, Oct. 17, the 18th annual Harness The Hope Night on Friday, Oct. 20, Caretaker Appreciation Day on Nov. 3 and the annual Holiday Drivers Challenge in support of Toys For Tots on Sunday, Dec. 10.
The front section of the grandstand has been undergoing significant renovation and infrastructure enhancement this summer. The project is slated to be completed prior to the start of the race season although customers may experience some temporary disruption as that project wraps up.
Fans are reminded that the main level of The Raceway will not be open to racing customers when racing resumes as it will remain operating as an MLHU Vaccination Clinic for the fall period. On-track patrons will be able to access the Raceway Lounge on the second floor as well as the Top Of The Fair restaurant and new Top Of The Fair lounge space.
