Two Wins Saturday For Rollin Doubles
Rollin Doubles didn't come up snake eyes for his connections or his pari-mutuel supporters on Saturday, Aug. 26 at Connell Park in Woodstock, N.B.
The son of Roll With Joe - Billmar Scooter raced twice and won twice for trainer Charlie Miles, driver Stephen Trites and owners Everette Hanson and Don Stevenson.
In the first of his two wins, he stopped the clock in 2:05 over the off footing with a gate-to-wire victory. In the finale of the afternoon, Rollin Doubles was a double-digit winner in the half-mile sprint of :58.3. With the two wins, he now has eight wins in his career.
Top class of the day went to Therealprincess, winning in a sharp 2:01 over the good track. Mike Downey picked up the catch-driving win for owner Dr. Mitchell Downey and trainer Ellen Stevenson.
Other winners on the afternoon included Heart Like A Truck and JJ Breanne for Ivan Davies, as well as JJ Linda for Gerard Gallant.
Racing returns to Connell Park in Woodstock next weekend with the prestigious Milton Downey Stakes for two-year-old pacers with $30,000 in purses up for grabs as well as the $8,000 Rod Goguen Invitational Pace.
