Upset Winners At Clinton Lead To Pick-5 Carryover
Istolethecheddar stole the show in a first race upset at Clinton Raceway on Sunday (Aug. 13) afternoon and, along with another 15-1 winner in the third by D A Lunchbox, a $1,600 carryover was created in next week's Pick 5. The first race feature will have a guaranteed payout of $6,000.
Clinton welcomed a new voice to the announcer's booth for the 10-race afternoon romp. Melissa Keith, race analyst and handicapper at Truro Raceway in Nova Scotia, was on the mic for the entire card.
The Vanastra Curling Club held the trackside fundraiser with the 50/50 winner taking home just shy of $850. The group was able to raise just over $4,000 during the event. Over the 12 weeks of racing this season, Clinton Raceway has assisted groups in raising just over $38,000.
Three weeks of racing remain, with the 43rd Annual Charity Driver's Challenge closing out the season on Sunday, Sept. 3.
