Training Hat Trick For Gagnon At Rideau
Guy Gagnon steered three of his trainees to victory on the Thursday (Aug. 10) evening card at Rideau Carleton Raceway with Greystone Treasure leading his hat trick.
Leaving from post five, Gagnon and Greystone Treasure were on the outer charge as the opening panel was clicked in :28.1. Assuming control Greystone Treasure led her challengers to the half in :58.3 and three-quarters in 1:27.3 before winning by 1-3/4 lengths in 1:57. Whatineedisaman (Ryan Guy) finished second and Best Honey Hanover (Pascal Berube) was third.
Greystone Treasure ($4.80) is a five-year-old daughter of State Treasurer who now owns a record of 8-4-6 in 29 seasonal starts and a career tally of 24-11-11 in 78 starts. Owned by James Barry, she has $123,996 banked in her career.
Gagnon also led Moscow Moon ($8.90), a five-year-old Wheeling N Dealin son owned by Mario Brochu, to a 3-3/4 length victory in 2:00.2. Then, he followed up with seven-year-old mare Beach Journey ($3.20), winning by four lengths in 1:57.2 for owners Ecuries Guy Gagnon Inc. and Frederic Gagnon.
One more victory for trainer Mandy Archer with Never Mind N ($2.70) by 3-3/4 lengths in 1:59.2 gave Gagnon four driving wins on the card.
